Write your essay in 220–260 words.
In recent years, technology has become an essential part of our daily lives. While some people argue that it simplifies many tasks, others believe it has introduced new challenges.
On the one hand, technology has undoubtedly made life more convenient. Communication, for instance, is now faster and more accessible than ever before. People can instantly connect with others across the world, which has improved both personal and professional relationships. Moreover, many everyday activities, such as shopping or banking, can now be done online, saving both time and effort.
On the other hand, there are those who argue that technology has made life more complex. One reason for this is the constant need to stay updated with new tools and platforms, which can be overwhelming. In addition, excessive use of technology may lead to problems such as reduced face-to-face interaction and increased stress levels.
In conclusion, although technology has brought certain complications, I believe its advantages outweigh the disadvantages. It has significantly improved efficiency and connectivity, making modern life easier overall.
This is just one example of the tasks you will find in the C1 Advanced Writing exam.

🟦Model Answer (Band 8–9)
Report on Sports Facilities in the Local Area
Introduction
The aim of this report is to describe the sports facilities available in the local area, identify the most popular ones and suggest possible improvements.
Facilities Available
There are several sports facilities available, including a large sports centre, a public swimming pool and various outdoor football and basketball courts. The sports centre is well-equipped with a gym and offers a range of fitness classes.
Most Popular Facilities
The most popular facility appears to be the sports centre, as it provides a wide variety of activities suitable for all age groups. The swimming pool is also frequently used, particularly during weekends.
Suggested Improvements
Despite the variety of facilities, there are areas for improvement. For example, the outdoor courts are often overcrowded and could benefit from better maintenance. In addition, extending the opening hours of the sports centre would allow more people to use it.
Conclusion
In conclusion, although the local area offers a good range of sports facilities, certain improvements would make them more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
This answer meets the criteria required for a high band score in the C1 Advanced (CAE) exam.
